Today I’ve been working on my lecture on tuesday about the relationship between the japanese state and various religions, with focus on Buddhism and Shinto. I’m feeling prepared now I guess, hopefully it will work out ok.

While I’m on the subject, well, Japan that is - I’ve been obsessing over these pictures of naked, tattooed members of the Yakuza. Other than being a phenomenon I’m very interested and fascinated by, the pictures are wonderful. I really have to get Tatouage Yakuza by Irina Ionesco as soon as I can afford it!
